  • Why do you or people cosplay

Posted on September 3rd, 2010 admin No comments

What are the different types of cosplay?:
The way I see it, there are three real types of cosplayer. People in it for attention and people in it for pure fun.and people who want to challenge themselves in either crafting their costumes or competing with them.

What do you or people think when you or they are cosplaying?:
I try to think hard about how I appear, honestly. There are people that forget about the fun loving, fan based roots of cosplay that will take pictures of people who look stupid in their Cosplay Costumes and post them online, so I need to be weary of those types. I also try to be careful of offensive, scary, or being too sexy for anyone’s taste. But despite that, it’s really fun.

What does identity have to do with cosplay?:
When you’re in a costume, and you’re really into it, you can take on the persona of the character. There is nothing that gives fans more joy than seeing a physical embodiment of their favorite character. And it’s actually a great escape to feel like someone else for a little while.

    What about crossplay?:
Crossplay, to me, is just another way to pay homage to a male character that I like. For men, it’s often a ploy for attention but it can also just be more passionate love of a female character.

Does cosplay affect ethnicity, religion, etc?:
I would say that, in some ways it does and in some ways it’s the opposite. I know people who, through cosplay, have met their spouses and even have named their children after anime characters. However, often times one’s religious beliefs and/or race can stop a person from cosplaying a character they would otherwise. Like, a person with dark skin might be hesitant to Cosplay One Piece a pale character, and someone worried about remaining chaste would probably not cosplay a character in a skimpy outfit.

I personally cosplay because it raises my self esteem, is great for making friends, and it’s just plain fun. Having people coming up to you wanting your picture really makes you feel good about yourself. When you cosplay a character that you’re passionate about, other fans are bound to contact you about them.

  • Perfect Lolita Cosplay

Posted on September 1st, 2010 admin No comments

Lolita was influenced and popularized by the imagery of more feminine Visual Kei bands. Visual Kei is a Japanese form of rock music defined by bands featuring performers in elaborate costumes but whose musical style varies. Mana, the cross-dressing former leader and guitarist of the Visual Kei band Malice Mizer is widely credited for having helped popularize Gothic Lolita. He coined the terms “Elegant Gothic Lolita” (EGL) and “Elegant Gothic Aristocrat” (EGA) to describe the style of his own fashion label Moi-même-Moitié, which was founded in 1999 and quickly established itself as one of the most coveted brands of the Lolita scene Cosplay.

A perfect Lolita outfit is an extremely tough quest undertaken by many girls.  Often, the actual outfit worn is a far cry from the attempted or the desired one. Many girls, especially the new-comers in Lolita fashion, confuse the term ‘cosplay Lolita’ with Lolita. There are numerous clear-cut differences between the two.

Elegance-Sophistication is a must, so in case, your neckline is too revealing, one must wear a blouse beneath, or in case the skirt is too short, make another or wear bloomers.

Poise- Cosplay Lolita’s usually overdo the lace, and this is a ‘must avoid’ in order to provide a classy look. Instead a judicious balance between lace and open space has to be made, or else avoid lace completely!

Material-Cosplay Lolita is known for its fabric made of satin, therefore, any kind of shine on the material must be avoided. Instead, lightweight cotton of superior quality must be preferred.

Undergarments- A anime cosplay Lolita usually wears no petticoat, a hoop skirt, or a square dance petticoat. The latter gives an unwanted outward flare shape, where as the hoop skirt is rarely worn well. Generally, proper Lolita’s wear a petticoat style called a pannier, which enhances the skirt portion and creates a cupcake-like shape. They are created from two or three layers of crinoline netting. To identify a pannier, wear it under a skirt, it should provide a cup-cake like appearance to the outfit. Bloomers, if worn, must be above the knee and hidden from plain sight.

Hair- As such, there is no specific style of hair for an elegant Lolita, though a ponytail is usually avoided. Pigtails, straight, curly, puffy, buns, or with bangs are usually the preferred alternatives.

Footwear- A fashionable Lolita will normally be found sporting a low heel or platform mary-janes, or maybe even a cute pair of sandals. Sneakers and stiletto platforms are strict no-no’s.

Research- One of the most underrated steps in obtaining the Lolita look is scanning through magazines or internet sites for examples of the styles to be replicated.

In Japan, despite still being a subculture and fringe fashion, Lolita fashion is mass-marketed and has wide visibility particularly in the streets of Tokyo and Osaka, on television, in manga and computer games. Outside of Japan it is still a widely unknown fringe fashion although it has slowly begun to spread to other countries. Lolita fashion, along with cosplay and other Japanese cultural phenomena, can sometimes be seen at concerts and anime conventions throughout Europe and the United States. The style has not yet been mass marketed outside of Japan, although increasingly Japanese brands are available for purchase abroad directly from the brands. However, there are plenty of dedicated fans filling the still-remaining gap. Lolita fashion magazines are widely available for purchase on the Internet and at Japanese bookstores which also deal in anime and manga. Adherents often sew their own homemade Lolita outfits, sometimes offering them for sale to make up for the difficulty of acquiring them from Japan. Apart from most Western fashions, Lolita tends to hold higher expectations to those that dress it. Higher quality clothes are favored over “Cheap Cosplay” lace and cosplay-esque designs.

Ani-Com, also known as the Hong Kong Comics Festival, brings in over half a million fans of manga, anime, and video games, hoping to bring home the latest merchandise.

Ani-Com, which is held at the end of July or early in August, manages to bring otaku—the Japanese word for fanboys/fangirls—away from their manga and computers in droves. Each year, over half a million people turn up over the five days of the fair. In 2009, its 11th year, 113,000 people attended on opening day, a turnout that was 6.6 percent higher than the year before. The fair was held from July 31 to August 4 at the spacious Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

When Ani-Com was new, attendees complained of the lack of cosplay. In the last couple of years, cosplay has amped up, and at Ani-Com 2009, it dominated the fair. For the uninitiated, cosplay means costume roleplay, a type of performance art that has grown in popularity around the world. Anyone can participate. It’s a chance for any fan to become a star for the day.

Cosplayers dressed up in homemade or Cosplay Shop-bought costumes to look like characters from InuYasha Cosplay , Vampire Knights, Naruto, Death Note, and much more. Surrounded by photographers, they struck poses in the cosplay area, but were seen throughout the fair, shopping and gawking like everyone else.

Over 400 booths displayed sought-after products, from the latest software and games to cosplay costumes, Voltron models and a Michael Jackson figure not available in the U.S.At these conventions, the entertainment and toy industry takes the opportunity to announce upcoming films and other products. Bandai, Microsoft, and Nintendo were a few of the major exhibitors. It was also a chance for Hong Kong fans to meet their Japanese heroes and heroines in person. For instance, Otaku personaltiy Shokotan Nakagawa gave a concert.Compared to other conventions, the ticket price is a bargain at HK$ 25 (US$ 3.20). To avoid long ticket queues, the fair organizers make the tickets available at various convenience stores around the city, including 7-Eleven and Circle K.

As fans of manga, comic books, anime, or video games know, the only thing better than collecting them is gathering in large groups with other fans.

  • Cosplayers

Posted on August 18th, 2010 admin No comments

Cosplay’ is the shortened term given to ‘Costume Play’. The term embodies the art of dressing up as your favorite anime character and is a practice widely employed by enthusiasts the world over. It is a practice usually engaged in for large group gatherings such as anime or science fiction conventions or “Comiket” which is a huge even dedicated to the buying and selling of fan-created doujinshi or manga. According to Lunning (2006), cosplayers spend countless hours and immeasurable resources in order to transform themselves from their ‘real world’ identities into their favorite fiction characters.

This is the primary reason cosplay should be considered an ‘art’ form or a form of creative outlet. Many cosplay enthusiasts not only go to the trouble of creating their own Cheap Cosplay costumes but also place great care and planning into learning not only the “look” of the character they are presenting but also in the meaning behind who that character is and what that character stands for. True lovers of cosplay aim to embody the complete character, including a sincere portrayal of their “spirit”.

Apart from the personal reasons of wanting to pay tribute to characters loved by fans or to their creators, people also cosplay in order to express themselves. For cosplayers, one way they can share this expression of self is by acting as models for budding photographers with similar interests.

During Comiket for example, there are particularly arranged areas and dedicated spaces for the sole use of cosplayers and photographers who wish to capture still shots as well as the wider audiences who wish to watch. Taylor (2005), offers that conventions provide a safe environment for cosplayers to be able to perform a different role.

This role performance is also another social aspect of Final Fantasy Cosplay and Taylor states that this is a prime motivation for fans to become cosplayers who attempt to portray their choice of fictional characters through their “dress, acts and gestures.”

  • Four Favorite Cosplays for the Generation after 80

Posted on August 16th, 2010 admin No comments

For most of the post 80s, it is very familiar with the Japanese Anime which had been brought into mainland form the 1980s. Among these interesting and appealing animations, the following four animations are undoubtedly the favorite anime cosplay they like to do.

Firstly, the hananoko_runrun, I think it is the first anime which had bring the post 80s great happiness. Xiao Pei, the leading role of the cartoon, had gained a magic flower key and she could do many unbelievable thing under the assistance of the key. To most girls of the 1980 generation, they likes the cartoon simply because XIAO Pei can have different beautiful princess dresses of short evening dresses by the power of flower key. For most girls, they tend to portray XIAO Pei in some special days, which can give them the chance of wearing various cosplay costumes and showed others a changeful image.

Secondly, the Sailor Moon, it is also a story about beautiful young girls, it has influenced many girls of the 1980 generation. In the cartoon, the pretty girls and their superior courage had won many loyal fans. In a period, you could see many colorful clothes which are a little the same as the clothes appeared in Sailor Moon-Japanese School Uniform.

Thirdly, the Slam Dunk, it is about basketball and handsome boys. For most boys of the 1980 generation, they like this cartoon since it has a inmate relationship to their favorite sports basketball, and most of them want to as smart as Rukawa Kaede, also as cool as Sakuragi Hanamichi As a result, once a time the basket ball with NO 10 and 11 were sole like a hot cake since every boy was dreaming of being the second Rukawa Kaede and Sakuragi Hanamichi. Moreover, the cartoon also attracted a group of girls who had been fascinated by the handsome boys in the story, and they even urged their boy friends to wear like the roles of the anime.

The last but not the least is of course the Naruto, it has such s profound influence that most of my university classmates escape from the class just for watching the Naruto in dormitory. In university campus, it is very normal to see a Naruto Costume show, and the most favorite is Sasuke Cosplay since Sasuke is the most cool and personalized role in the animation.

To the whole generation, Japanese anime is no longer a strange thing, and they can do some cosplay show for fun. The reason why they like to do this II think it is mainly because the cartoons has brought them a happy childhood and they want to reappear it again by this unique artistic form.

  • Naruto Cosplay Fight Mood and Musical Accompanimen

Posted on August 11th, 2010 admin No comments

You do not want to miss are the psychological mood and musical accompaniment of your favorite Naruto Cosplay appearances… …

    Naruto Cosplay Weaponless

    Musical Accompaniment

Music soundtrack is crucial for your success. Never neglect it. I know a lot of cases when skillful cosplay duels failed due to a poor music accompaniment or the absence of music at all. Music should be in accordance with the mood of the fight and also the rate and speed which depends on your experience and skills.

    Psychological Mood for Naruto Cosplay

One of the most important factors for your successful Naruto Cosplay fight performance is the psychological mood of cosplayers. Usually people tend to be nervous and try to remember by heart the sequence of movements, and that is by itself the greatest mistake. Never try to memorize the fight. If you try to remember everything, it is 60 percent sure to fail. Your fight should be natural, yet it can be attained only by days of rehearsals. Then you can enact the fight and all its main stages without trying to remember what to do next. During rehearsals you can attain a high speed of actions that can be considerably lower in actual cosplay appearance.

The cosplay fight is not just a sequence of moves, it is a continuous play that starts when you take out your weapon and ends when you or your opponent puts down a weapon or “kills” another cosplayer. When you enact fight as a sequence of small scenes, it can break the whole appearance and look unnatural and ridiculous.

When you go on stage in front of large audience Sasuke Cosplay, do not think about your responsibility or how to impress them, it can make you too nervous. Try to abstract yourself and live the event. Then your fear will disappear, you will feel calm and confident. You will show that your rehearsals and trainings are not in vain. Your Naruto Cosplay costume is nice, yet it is not all in all. You are the hero. Yet consider safety and health of your partner. Be concentrated. The most harmful kicks are those that you make unintentionally. Thus your concentration matters the most. Do not cripple your opponent. If you want to kick, kick thoughtfully. Do not cheat with kicks in cosplay. One kicks, another defends, that is the game of cosplay fight.

There are three factors that affect your success. The first is your knowledge of the sequence of attacks in your cosplay fight. The second is the control or ability to stop weapon in last moment or alleviate the kick. And the last one is your skill. Do not invent anything that could be detrimental in the long run. And never risk your health or that of your partner.Check for Naruto outfits and Naruto cosplay weapons.

The anime adaptation has been similarly received, rating as the 4th most popular anime television series in Japan in 2006, and in the top ten anime for the US from 2006 to 2008. cosplay The series received the Shogakukan Manga Award for the shōnen demographic in 2005, and is among the best-selling manga properties in both Japan and the United States.

The story opens with the sudden appearance of one of the Soul Reapers in the Japanese version), a military order who escorts the souls of the dead, named Rukia Kuchiki in teenager Ichigo Kurosaki’s bedroom. She is surprised at his ability to see her, but their conversation is interrupted by the appearance of a “hollow”, an evil Cheap Cosplay  spirit who was originally a human soul. After Rukia is severely wounded while trying to protect Ichigo, she attempts to transfer half of her reiatsu   to Ichigo in order to let him face the hollow on equal footing. Ichigo unintentionally absorbs almost all her energy, allowing him to defeat the hollow with ease. The next day Rukia appears in Ichigo’s classroom as a seemingly normal human, and informs Ichigo that his absorption of her powers has left her stranded in the human world until she recovers her strength. In the meantime Ichigo shelters Rukia in his home and takes over her job as a Soul Reaper, battling hollows and guiding lost souls to the afterlife realm known as Soul Society, Sōru Sosaeti?.

In the sixth volume of the series, Rukia’s Soul Reaper superiors find out about her giving her powers away (which is illegal in Soul Society) and send a detachment to arrest her, and sentence her to death. Ichigo is unable to stop Rukia’s capture, but with the help of several of his classmates who also possess spiritual abilities and ex-Soul Reaper Captain Kisuke Urahara, he sets off for the Soul Reaper base, located in Soul Society. Once there, Ichigo and company battle against the elites of the Soul Reaper military.

It is then revealed that Rukia’s execution and Ichigo’s rescue attempt were both manipulated by Sōsuke Aizen, a high ranking Soul Reaper previously believed to be murdered, as part of a far-reaching plot to take control of Soul Society. Aizen betrays his fellow Soul Reapers and allies himself with the strongest hollows, arrancar, becoming the main antagonist of the series, and Ichigo teams up with his former enemies in Soul Society after learning that the next step in Aizen’s plan involves the destruction of his hometown to make the King’s Key, which Aizen plans to use for his own intentions. However, Ichigo goes with a few friends to the Hollow’s world, Hueco Mundo, Ueko Mundo?, in order to rescue their friend Orihime Inoue who was kidnapped by Aizen in order to reduce the number of Soul Reapers defending Soul Society. • Four Heavenly Kings in Japan Cosplay Field

Posted on August 9th, 2010 admin No comments

In Japan, anime Cosplaycan be a very important part of fashion, and the famous stars in this field come out like spring bamboos. When talking about the famous Japanese coser, the most famous we can’t avoid discussion is undoubtedly YING TING SHI YANG.

In Japanese cosplay field, YING TING SHI YANG has won many fans by her pretty look and man-like body. Born on Feb 19th, the Pisces girl has s personality which was different from normal people. As a girl, she looks a little boylish, which do great help in her performance of portraying male roles of anime or cartoons. She always live in her own mind and shows no interest in thing she is not fond of. Moreover, the girl is a neat freak who is very sensitive to public health, but her own room always looks disorder.

The male role she played has a special beauty that can over all the handsome men in the world. As a fan of cosplay, YING TING SHI YANG has tried many different cosplay, and she prefers black cosplay very much. In 1999, she played the leading man of Trinity Soul and successfully being admitted by the cosplay fans.

The second king in the Japan cosplay field is Sakuya Shiina, the same as YING TING SHI YANG, she is also famous for portraying man in spite that in fact she is a female. If we say Ying ting shi yang is a princess who rides a horse from a caste with bright sunshine, then Sakuya Shiina is like a exotic flower blooming in dark forest, apathy, gorgeous and unforgettable. The most attracting point of Sakuya Shiina is her special eyes, which usually can catch your attention in first sight. In fact, Sakuya Shiina now is working in a mobile phone company, her main work is exploring mobile phone games. And she has two children need to be take of, so she is always very busy, if she has leisure time, then of course she will going to coaplay.

The other two famous kings in Japanese cosplay field are HIRO and HUA YUE LIU NA. Being called as rose of Angel Sanctuary, HIRO impressed us deeply by a face which looks precisely the same to the face of HYDE. HIRO is also a serious cosplayer who pays special attention to property make, in her cosplay, you can see slight and soft wing, this is very hard to achieve.

The last one, HUA YUE LIU NA, may be she is not as popular as the first three kings, she is also good at portraying male roles and has her own unique understanding to Cosplay Shop. In future, may be you can her do great progress in this field.
